Fiji exists to promote lifelong friendships, reaffirm high ethical standards and values, and to foster personal development in the pursuit of excellence. Phi Gamma Delta is committed to providing opportunities for each brother to develop responsibility, leadership, scholarship, and social skills in order to become a fully contributing member of society.
Phi Gamma Delta was founded nationally in 1848 and locally here at TTU in 1981. Our fraternity is centered around five values - friendship, knowledge, service, morality, and excellence. The members of Phi Gamma Delta include a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and lifestyles, but are all bonded by brotherhood. We also promote community service through projects such as the Special Olympics, Adopt-A-Highway, collecting can goods for the Cookeville Rescue Mission, working with the local orphans and elderly, and supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Phi Gamma Delta is also about having fun. Some of the events during the year are Fiji Island Week, Homecoming (particularly the Fiji Kazoo Band), Purple Garter Formal, Intramural Athletics, Pig Dinner, Greek Week, All Sing, and other organizations' philanthropic events.
